Privacy Policy

FieldOpsNow ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Patrick Carroll, an individual sole trader based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email patrick_carroll@hotmail.co.uk.

1. Who this policy is for

FieldOpsNow is a coordination and safety tool for shooting syndicates, farmers, landowners, and members they invite. You must be at least 16 years old to use it.

2. What we collect

Account details: email address, chosen display name, and role (member, farmer, syndicate leader).
Profile extras (optional): avatar photo, phone number, and postal address. Phone and address are only visible to the leader or farmer of syndicates you belong to, never to other members.
Location: your device GPS coordinates while you have checked in "on site". This includes background location so leaders and other members on the same farm can see live presence for safety. Location tracking stops when you check out or after a short idle period.
Content you create: chat messages, sightings, log entries, photos, and pins you add to a farm.
Technical data: basic device and error logs so the app can be kept working. We do not use advertising trackers.

3. Why we use it

Show live on-site presence so members can be located quickly in an emergency.
Let syndicate leaders and farmers coordinate visits, sightings, and permissions.
Deliver chat messages and notifications between members who share a farm or syndicate.
Keep the account secure and prevent abuse.

4. Who can see what

Only your display name and avatar are ever shown to other members — your email address is never displayed in the app. Access to the rest of your data is controlled by role:

Members of the same syndicate see each other's display name, avatar, on-site status, and shared logbook entries.
Syndicate leaders and farmers additionally see their members' visit history, photos, and (if provided) phone / address for that syndicate.
Chat messages are visible only to participants of that chat.
No data is sold or shared with advertisers.

5. Where it's stored

Data is stored on Lovable Cloud (backed by Supabase) in EU-region data centres. Photos are stored in access-controlled cloud storage buckets; push notifications are delivered via Apple and Google's push services.

6. How long we keep it

Account data and content are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), your profile, chat messages authored by you, sightings, and uploaded photos are permanently removed. Some minimal records (e.g. moderation reports) may be retained for up to 12 months to meet legal obligations.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. The quickest way to delete everything is in-app: Settings → Delete account. For anything else, email patrick_carroll@hotmail.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

8. Children

FieldOpsNow is not intended for anyone under 16. Accounts found to belong to under-16s will be removed.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will notify you in the app and update the "Last updated" date above.
